Winter Championships - Entry Now Open

The season kicks off with the RS100/400/500/600/800 Winter Championships, and RS200 Winter Warm-Up, hosted by ever-popular Grafham WSC on 8/9 March.

6 RS fleets, sailing on 2 courses.  Fleet with fewer than 8 boats may share a start line.  Tentative plan is to have RS100, 200 & 500 on Course Alpha, and RS400, 600 & 800 on course Bravo.

3 races/day are scheduled, back to back, with start times of 1230hrs on Saturday and 1030hrs on Sunday.
Registration will open at 0930hrs on Saturday, and the race briefing will be at 1130hrs.

To help the club organise this complicated regatta, this event is pre-entry via this website.   Pre entered double-handers are £32/boat (£4 for GWSC members); single-handers are £28 (£2 for GWSC members).

You will be able to enter on the day, but there will be a £10 surcharge.

GWSC members should enter online to avoid the £10 late entry levy, but should pay the club direct at registration.

One person in each boat will need to be a member of their RS Class Association to sail in this event.  You can join on the Championship website (link above), or contact the membership secretary for details.  membership@rs-association.com    The membership secretary will be at registration if you have any queries.   If you would prefer, you can pay a one-off membership fee of £10, and, if you subsequently join as a full member, this payment will be refunded.

As we are starting a new year, you may want to see the general NoR and SIs for the year.  These are under Documents on the website at http://uk.rs100sailing.org/index.asp?selection=Documents&Fleet=RS100  SSIs, including the course charts, will be available at registration.

Campers and camper vans are welcome and pre booking of a Campervan site from the Club Secretariat - admin@grafham.org / 0845 6442548 is essential. There is a charge of £15 per night for Campervans, £10 per night for Camping (please note ñ NO caravans please ñ our lease does not allow them).

There will be an all day cafeteria both days, meal available on Saturday evening.   Bar open on Saturday night of course.

A non-native species of fresh water shrimp (commonly known as killer shrimps) have been found in Grafham Water and certain restrictions on boat movements have been imposed by AW, DEFRA or other bodies to prevent the spread of these to other locations in the UK. These requirements are prominently displayed on the club premises and will include washing boats and equipment before removal from the Club premises. Failure to comply with the requirements of these restrictions may lead to expulsion from the event.
