New UK Secretary Joins the Team
Emma York is a long-time RS200 sailor, still owning sail number 252(!), and sailing it at Northampton Sailing Club. Emma has been around sailing forever, starting work as a sailing instructor in the late 90s, and latterly working for Laser Performance until 2012. At Laser, Emma attended events nationwide, working with sailors and clubs, and helped maintain their class associations. In a varied career, Emma is used to dealing with high demands and tight deadlines.
In 2013, Emma will be looking after around 50% of the UK weekend events, sharing these with Debbie Darling. She will also specifically be looking after the RS200, RS300 and RS600 fleets. [Debbie will be looking after the RS400s, RS700s, RS800s, RS Vareos, and Heather the RS100s and RS500s.] For these fleets, she will help with communication, committees, coaching, and everything that is required to keep the UK Associations running smoothly. Emma will also be looking after the RS300/600 and RS Vareo Nationals in 2013.
Emma starts work this Saturday, joining us on the RS Stand at the Dinghy Sailing Show. Come along and meet her! Thereafter, Emma will be working around 1.5 - 2 days/week.
