Inlands Cancelled due to lack of water

Unfortunately it has been necessary to CANCEL the Inlands event to have been held at Datchet for the K6/800 this weekend (26/27th October 2002). This is due to the very low water level of the reservoir which not only affects the wind stability but also the steep slippery slopes could lead to injury or damage to boats. Whilst the water level is rising rapidly, it will not have risen far enough by this weekend. Fortunately for Datchet members and forthcoming events, the club don't expect the current low water situation to last long" It has not been possible to secure another Inlands club at short notice. However, Hayling Island Sailing Club has stepped into the breach and will run an event this weekend (26/27th October) for the RS800's ONLY. Entitled the “Just” Inlands, this event will is for those who are disappointed by Datchet being cancelled and want somewhere to sail this weekend. HISC have put together a top racing team for the event consisting of Tim Hancock and Greg Wells therefore visitors can expect excellent racing in the harbour. First start will not be before 1pm on Saturday and the entry fee will be £25 for the two days. It is planned to have 3 races on the Saturday and 2 races on the Sunday so that visitors can get away at a reasonable time. There is accommodation available at the club (info available at http://www.hisc.co.uk)
