Notes for Competitors to 10th Anniversary Regatta
Hope you are looking forward to a very special weekend indeed. We are
expecting 270 boats, 470 competitors, and we are all ready for you ...
Just a couple of points. Firstly, if you have not booked food on
Saturday (Bar-B-Q) or Sunday, please be reminded that there will be other
food available to buy in the snack bar at HISC, and that you are all very
welcome to the socials.
Next, to cope with over 200 boats arriving in a 1-2 hour period, HISC
have suggested a streamlined procedure for unloading: competitors will be
asked to unhitch boats at the roundabout on the edge of the boat park,
unload sailing bags etc on top of the boat, and take the car down to the
car park near the lifeboat station. Whilst you are doing this, volunteers
will aim to deliver your boat to its respective class area of the dinghy
park. Worth planning to not return to your car during the day - although
the club are running a minibus up and down the causeway for most of the
day to save your legs....
And lastly, HISC will require as many people as possible to help unload
boats, so if there is more than one person in a car, or once people have
sorted their boat can they help the people behind. It is going to be a
all hands to the deck sort of morning.
Looking forward to seeing you all there.
