Bumper Turn out at Burghfield.
There was a bumper turn out at Burghfield this weekend. Some say due to
the the training arranged by Eddie McDonald and coached by Jonathan Lewis.
Which was greatly appreciated.
We have had alot of fantstic feed back;
"I'd like to thank Jonathan for the coaching and Eddie for the loan of
his boat on Friday evening.
The coaching was a great help and having met some of you I feel inspired
to get a tow hook and attend some open meetings." Graeme Wigmore
"I would like to echo Graeme's appreciation for Jonathan's coaching on
Friday, I found it not only informative but enjoyable too, it quite
inspired me to keep with it." Robert Norria
"The video debrief, was excellent, especially as my sailing was not being
critically assessed! As has been mentioned already being able to see what
you look like from outside the boat is invaluable, as at the BCYC
training sitting forward and keeping the boat flat are the lessons learnt
by everyone, even though the conditions could not have been more
different." Christopher Greenwood
"My first time at an event like this and I really enjoyed it. I'm
just glad Johnathan didn't choose to show any footage of me on the
Friday. I learnt loads from watching the more competent sailors
minor imperfections without being totally embarassed by my own bad
habits." Tony Ingall
"I also would like to thank Jonathan for the illustrative way in
describing my many faults.
On the water, hearing the word 'Superb', hightened my sense of
achievement on missing the island. Unfortunately on the ensuing
playback, it was used as the one example everybody had to remember
how not to do a gybe. Ah well I learned from it!!
The use of the video / coaching, really helped. I really hope
others got as much out of the training as I did. Thanks Jonathan,
hopefully, I'm a wee bit better than I was." Gavin Steven
There is another training day for the Vareos before event at Weymouth
which will be on the Friday 1st July and another training day for the
300s, at Draycote SC on Saturday the 13th August.
