Yachts and Yachting 'Battle of the classes' Pursuit Race - An Invitation
You are invited to the Yachts & Yachting sponsored 'Battle of the
Classes' Pursuit Race, on Sunday 14th January in the Royal Victoria Dock,
right outside the ExCel boat show halls. This is a great opportunity for
us to show case our fleets to the sailing public with a maximum of two
boats from each class fighting it out on the water. Spectator access has
been improved for 2007, with viewing areas available from the dock, the
footbridge and the Royal Navy Frigate providing great grandstand views of
the racing.
The notice of race and entry form are available at
http://www.yachtsandyachting.com/2007botcNOR.pdf . If you are entering,
please let me know by e-mailing heatherc@rs-association.com. Trophies
are awarded to the first boat overall, the first class overall, (combined
results from the two boats,) and first under 16 entry. 44 boats entered
last year.
If you want to be a hero for your class, send your entry in before
December 21st to Lorraine@YachtsandYachting.com, or post to Yachts &
Yachting, 196, Eastern Esplanade, Southend-On-Sea, Essex, SS1 3AB. Each
entry receives two free tickets to the show, for both single and double-
handed boats, ensuring you have a great day out. The prize giving will be
at 4.30pm in the Boat Show Boulevard, so bring your friends and family
along to support your class.
