RS Association Dinghy Show News
The RS Association have an action packed stand planned for this years Volvo RYA Dinghy Show.
The new RS100 will be on the stand & RS Administrators – Heather & Debbie will be on hand to advise new owners about how the RS Association will benefit them & what events are planned for 2010.
Also new for 2010 is an initiative to get RS sailors going in their boats. The RS Association has recruited Melvyn Cooper to oversee ’RS Get Going Workshops’ around the country with the aim to help those new to their boat. The one day workshops will provide set up & tuning information both on & off the water. The aim is to give boat owners a ‘Sailing with Confidence’ boost on a variety of subjects such as launch and recovery techniques, upwind and tacking skills, downwind, gybing skills and spinnaker work. Anyone who has recently bought a new or second hand RS boat could benefit from these workshops.
Following the success of the RS WOW last year the RS Association has planned two more women only courses for RS members. Details & dates can be found on the RS Association website or by emailing debbie@rs-association.com
To ‘kick start’ the Dinghy Show weekend the RS Association are launching the on-line entry system for the UK RS 200 Nationals. Last year entries were capped at 130 & this week the RS 200 Eurocup in Garda has seen entries reach 62 within two weeks ! A £25 ‘early bird’ discount will be available for the first 25 boats to enter.
