Alistair Norris and Helen Summersgill set the pace again!
Last weekend was the second in the SW Ugly Tour at Thornbury where BCYC boats won the bronze, silver and gold fleets – great work from everyone. Quite a few BCYC boats also chose to indulge in a luxury spa treatment by playing in the delightful Thornbury mud baths. I believe John Teague’s toes now look 10 years younger after only 30minutes immersion in the mud.
There has also been a noticeable effort from many to reduce the amount of single use plastic used when going sailing, which is fantastic. If you’re after any inspiration then go and have a look at what others are doing; replacing electrical tape on shrouds and jib shackles with bicycle inner tubes seems to be a winner.
