The first round of the 2001 Northern Tour for RS200’s was held at Leigh &
Lowton SC on Sunday 25th March.
In complete contrast to last years event there was wind, not much, but
enough to cause a few moments! The 11 strong fleet shared the windward
leeward course with the RS400’s so approaching the windward mark as the
400’s were leaving it proved interesting to say the least. Tom & Jo
Hewitson (RNCYC) led the first race from Edd Whitehead & Lucy Dufton
(Filey) with Richard Whiteley & Annabelle Banham (Ripon) chasing hard,
this trio giving the trailing 400’s a run for their money at times.
