- It is run by volunteer sailors with back-up by part time professional administrators
- The sailors make the plans and decisions - without having to do all the leg work

- The cost is tiny compared to your benefits, working out at just £3.75 per month for Full Membership, £3 per month for Club Membership or £2.08 per month for Youth Membership
- By taking out International Class Association membership for one class, you will have reciprocal membership to the RS100, RS200, RS300, RS400, RS600, RS700, RS800, RS Vareo International and International RS500 Class Associations
- One event membership is available for all events except National and major championships, for use by those borrowing a boat, intending to only sail in one RS Class Association event etc. Click here.

Could you be our next Treasuer? It comes with free Nationals entry!
The RS Class Association are looking for a new Treasurer.
This really is an essential role for the working of your Class Association, but we recognise that everyone's time is valuable, so are happy to offer free Nationals entry to an RS 00 or Vareo class Nationals as a thank you for taking on the role.
You don't need to be a qualified accountant, just happy with numbers and able to work your way around a fairly complex spreadsheet. Our bookkeeper does all the day-to-day payments, initial reconciliations and book-keeping.
The Role of the Treasurer
- Prepare management accounts. Check monthly posting and backup paperwork and review the management accounts. Generally oversee the bookkeeper in the population of the accounts spreadsheet. When needed for a committee meeting prepare a commentary.
2. Prepare annual accounts. Carry out the standard reconciliations. Prepare and post journal entries. Review the final accounts.
3. Together with bookkeeper and Class Association secretary, prepare an annual budget with a commentary and present to the management committee for their approval at the beginning of each year..
4. Lead the management committee and class associations on matters of financial strategy – subscriptions levels, currency management etc.
We estimate that the role requires approx 1hr per month, plus 15hrs at year end.
