Salcombe Gin RS200 Masters Championship 2023 – entry open
Entry for the inaugural Salcombe Gin RS200 Masters Championship has been declared open!
The event, an idea spearheaded by the RS200 Masters Rep, Jon Chapman, takes place over 3 days from Friday 23rd – Sun 25th June at Hayling Island Sailing Club.
Open to helms aged 45 or over, with crews of any age, the event will take place alongside the Noble Marine RS500 UK National Championships and share 2 days with the Salcombe Gin RS Summer Regatta.
Masters’ results will be extracted from the overall results to determine who will be crowned RS200 Master and Grandmaster National Champions. Masters in the RS200 fleet are those aged 45 or older, with Grandmasters aged 60 or over.
The Masters will enjoy a Fleet Dinner on Friday evening, before being joined by the rest of the RS200 fleet, as well as other RS fleets for the Salcombe Gin Summer Regatta.
The spectacular Salcombe Gin RS Summer Ball will take place on Saturday 24th June, raising money for the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, who support young people aged 8-24 in their recovery from cancer by inviting them on sailing or outdoor adventures. This is the first RS Ball since COVID and promises to bring back memories of the annual balls held in the early days of RS Sailing. Many of the RS200 Masters have been in the fleet since for over 30 years!
Friends, supporters and ex-RS sailors are all warmly invited to the ball, tickets form those not sailing can be purchased here.
