Arrival and Departure Information

Important Arrival Information

Abersoch gets very busy in the Summer, and the Volvo Noble Marine RS200 National Championship follows Abersoch Dinghy week.

To avoid grid-locking the village, please follow these directions.

Directions to Golf Road (Llon Golff) – Easy Access Slipway Used for Events - note no access approx 1.5 hrs either side of high tide, if possible you should aim to arrive between 10.45 and 19.45 on Saturday

High Tide times 01 Aug 09.16 and 21.37

To launch your boat on the main beach at Abersoch, it is imperative that you go directly to Golf Road (Llon Golff) and do not drive to the Yacht Club with your trailer, as the congestion along the lane will become impassable. As you enter the main part of the village leave W & G Williams Garage on your left and go up the High Street, keep to the left as it merges into the Sarn Bach Road at the Carisbrooke and Neigwl Hotels. Take the next left, with the Wylfa Hotel on the corner into Golf Road (Llon Golff) and proceed to the bottom of the hill, where there is access to the beach.

We are delighted to announce that the coveted Blue Flag has been awarded to Abersoch main beach for the quality of its water and the safety of the users. However, this means that vehicular access is restricted and cars are not allowed to drive up and down the beach. The Beach Patrol personnel will do everything to assist in the unloading and possible transportation (subject to numbers at any one time) of your trailer along the beach – they are there to help when they can. Please note that the barrier will close promptly each night.

In conclusion we wish you a safe journey to Abersoch and we are keeping our fingers crossed for the more traditional Lleyn Peninsula summer, with sun and sufficient wind to fill your sails. No doubt there will be the usual tales of what might have been in the Bar after racing.
