End of Season Championships

Welcome to the Volvo End of Season Championships!
 
As at 31 Oct 14 Thames Water are instigating environmental controls against the "Quagga mussel" which has just been found in some of its sites. To avoid the spread of this invasive non-native species Thames Water uniformed staff will wash down your dinghy on arrival at DWSC and before you leave the site. Please allow an extra 15 minutes in your event planning time. You will need to remove your undercover for your dinghy to be washed down on its trailer on arrival. DWSC vounteers will be present at all times to ensure that the interests of you the dinghy sailor are looked after.
 
This will be a huge multi-fleet 2 day event, run by an excellent race team, to mark the end of an amazing RS racing year. The following 10 fleets are invited to the EOS: RS100s, RS200s, RS300s, RS400s, RS500s, RS600s, RS800s, RS Vareos and RS Teras and RS Fevas.

You can enter online by selecting the entry form to your left.

Online entry will close at 2359hrs Thurs 6 Nov by which time you must have paid your entry fee.   If you are paying by cheque your cheque must have reached the RS Class Association by 2359hrs Thurs 6 Nov.  Entry and payment after this time will need to be made at registration on Sat 8 Nov and will be subject to a late entry fee of £5.
 
There must be a RS Class Association member in the boat in order to race at this event. You will need to use your RS Class Association membership number on your entry form. Annual membership costs £39. You can join online at the UK website home page or in person at registration. You could take out one event membership online or at registration. This costs just £10. This £10 will be deducted from the full cost of annual membership if that is taken out within the calendar year.  Simply select one event membership on the online entry form and print out the paper form here.  You will need to fill in this form and bring it with you to registration.

Entry fees:

Double hander: RS200, RS400, RS500, RS800: £30 per boat.
Single hander: RS100, RS300, RS600, RS Vareo: £27 per boat.

Late entry: Double hander: £35 per boat, Single hander: £32.

Registration will be held upstairs in the clubhouse from 0900-1100hrs on Saturday.

A competitor briefing will be held at 1200hrs Saturday morning upstairs in the clubhouse.

Race Format:

The aim is for three back to back races on Saturday with the first race warning not before 1255hrs.
Three back to back races are scheduled for Sunday with the first race warning not before 1025hrs.  There will be no start after 1400hrs unless it is a general recall.
At the discretion of the Class Representatives and the Principle Race Officer Race 4 may be brought forward to Saturday to allow for any inclement weather forecasts. This decision will be announced at the briefing.
 
The plan is for two race tracks with start compositions determined by entry numbers.

Accommodation:

Campers and camper vans are welcome to stay for the night of Sat 8 Nov but pre-booking of your camping pitch or van site with the Club Secretary is essential. Please do this by contacting Gabrielle: manager@dwsc.co.uk or 01753 68387201753 683872. She will need you name and car registration. There is a charge of £10 per night for person camping, £19 per night for a campervan. Please select the appropriate option on your entry form in order to pay.  You cannot camp or park your campervan at DWSC on Fri 7 Nov 14.

Catering:

The all day cafeteria is open both days from 0800hrs until 1700hrs. The bar will be open until 1900hrs.

Refund policy:
If you cancel your entry before the early entry deadline we will refund all fees, minus a £15 admin fee. If you cancel after the early entry deadline, but before online entry closes our standard policy is to return 50% of fees. Where an event entry limit has been reached a refund will only be issued if another boat from the waiting list takes your place. If you cancel after entry closes we will not usually issue a refund.
