The 2026 RS200 Nationals Social Programme has officially been decided…

Forget secret identities, by the end of the week, everyone will know exactly who spent too long at the bar, who gate-started like a superhero, and who sailed like a full supervillain.

This year’s theme? HEROES & VILLAINS

From legendary comeback stories to absolute villain arcs after Race 3, this year’s social programme promises more drama than a Marvel finale.

Cape not required. Fancy dress absolutely encouraged.

Your mission briefing is as follows:

Saturday 15th August - The Arrival

Arrivals & Registration (12.00-18.00): The fleet begins to assemble as trailers descend on the club and sailors begin the annual ritual of pretending they packed efficiently.

Coaching afternoon: Exact time TBC but sign up with entry!

18.30 - Sailing Suppers Available: Refuel, reunite with the fleet, and begin discussing how this is definitely going to be your year.

19.30 - Commodore’s Welcome in the Corinthian Room: Your official welcome to Nationals week. Heroes, villains, and everyone in between are invited.

Sunday 16th August - Origins Assemble

Late Registration (9.00-10.30) & Racing

18.00 - TracTrac Debrief: Relive the day’s chaos, analyse the gains and losses, and discover exactly where your villain origin story began.

18.30 - Buddy BBQ: The fleet assembles for the opening social night of the week. Meet your fellow heroes, villains, and morally questionable sailors over BBQ food and a buddy system guaranteed to create either friendships or fierce rivalries.

20.00 - Quiz Night: A buddy quiz guaranteed to expose who actually knows anything outside of sailing. Expect less Justice League, more mildly organised chaos.

Monday 17th August - Villain Arc

Racing

18.00 - TracTrac Debrief: Review the day’s races and identify precisely where that tactical masterplan fell apart.

18.30 - Sailing Suppers Available / Masters Meal: The fleet legends gather to reminisce about the glory days, when sailors apparently hiked harder, windward marks were uphill both ways, and entry fees cost about £7.

20.00 - Karaoke Night: After enough drinks, every sailor believes they’re the hero of the story. Unfortunately for everyone else, some of you sing more like comic-book villains.

Will there be emotional ballads? Yes.

Will somebody attempt Mr Brightside? Also yes.

Will the microphone survive? Unclear.

Tuesday 18th August - Endgame

Racing

18.00 - TracTrac Debrief: A tactical review before the fleet descends into full costume-fuelled chaos.

18.30 - Curry Night: Refuel after racing with the traditional Nationals curry night. Perfect for recovering from your latest on-water battle, tactical disaster, or narrowly avoiding becoming public enemy number one at the leeward gate.

20.00 - Fancy Dress Night with Live Band: This is the big costume night. The time has come to fully commit to the theme.

Heroes, villains, sidekicks, antiheroes, chaotic neutrals - all welcome. Whether you arrive as Batman, Gru, Shrek in a cape, or a suspiciously budget Spider-Man made entirely from tape and regret, we want full commitment.

Bonus points for:

- Team costumes

- Sailing-themed superheroes

- Deeply niche references nobody understands

- Costumes that definitely won’t survive the night

Somebody will look unbelievable. Somebody else will end up dressed as a “generic superhero” wearing sunglasses indoors. That’s the beauty of Nationals.

Wednesday 19th August - Recovery Mode

Racing

18.00 - TracTrac Debrief: One final race replay session before the championship showdown.

18.30 - Sailing Suppers Available: A slightly quieter evening for refuelling and pretending Tuesday night didn’t happen.

20.00 - Class AGM: Like every cinematic universe, eventually, we must address the serious business. Come along for fleet updates, future plans, and the annual gathering of people pretending they understand class politics.

Even superheroes need recovery time. Recharge your powers, rehydrate responsibly, and try not to relive every tactical error from the race replay sessions.

Thursday 20th August - Infinity War Finale

Racing

18.30 - Prize Giving: The final showdown. The heroes rise, the villains are exposed, and championship glory awaits.

Who will emerge victorious?

Who peaked too early on Monday night?

Who somehow won races despite definitely being at the bar until 2am every evening?

19.30 - Championship Dinner & Party Night:  One final chance to empty the tank both on and off the dance floor.

By this point the fleet has fully descended into multiverse levels of chaos, the bar staff know all your names, and somebody is still trying to explain that they were definitely on starboard.

Assemble your crews, prepare your costumes, and get ready for another legendary Nationals week.

Because with great hiking comes great responsibility.

Meal tickets are expected to go live w/c 22nd June!
